It is funny that they thought it was wise to trust me with this car. It is horrible and wonderful to drive all at the same time. Terrifying

The Spitfire is probably one of the smallest, if not the smallest cars I’ve ever been in. You really have to like the passenger to drive any sort of distance in it. But when it goes, it’s like a go kart, mainly because it’s not that much bigger.

They sold these alongside Fiat X1/9s. Britain was on top of the world in car design in the 50s on into the very early 60s. The early Jag XKs were world beaters in style and speed, the Triumph TR2 was faster than any contemporary American car to 60 when introduced. Then came the Mini (traverse engine FWD when Fiat, Volkswagen, and Chevy were still putting small car motors in the rear), the amazing XKE. Then it all kind of stopped... . Design stagnated, quality suffered, and they soldiered on with Spitfires and MGBs whose designs were nearly 20 years old.
Anyway, I digress greatly, I love them for all their antiquated quirkiness, have had several Healeys, Triumphs and MGs, but never a Spitfire. Fun fact the Spitfire has a turning circle of like 23.5' or something like that. Smaller by 8-10' than most anything on the road. Makes for some pretty impressive parking maneuvers. Have fun.

Ye’, the MGB went from 1962 to 1980, then came back for a revival from 1992 to 1996 with a 3.9 V8 .

It’s a wild tame and lawless polite land ruled by bad hombres nice hosers and banditos hockey players where the only things you can count on to survive are your wits and your six-gun Tim Hortons and beer.

I love T riumphs. My grandpa had a TR3 in the ‘60s that was his DD/hillclimb racer. I’d love a TR3 or TR6 one day.

The company I work for just bought out a competitor, and at one of their locations we found a Spitfire in partially-restored condition just sitting in a warehouse. We’re currently trying to figure out if we can get a salvage title issued and then another of our employees is going to buy it.
The bottom of the engine looks nice and oily, but I haven’t seen the top yet (it’s currently sitting on a flatbed trailer)
. I also know that the interior is nonexistent.
